Service-At-A-Glance 

Red Line Free shuttle buses replace trains between Takoma and Rhode Island Avenue. Normal Service frequencies with trains operating between Shady Grove and Rhode Island Avenue and between Rhode Island Avenue and Takoma. No Red Line service at Brookland and Fort Totten stations.
Green Line Trains single track between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue. Trains run every 8 minutes between Greenbelt and Southern Avenue and every 16 minutes between Southern Avenue and Branch Avenue.

What Trackwork Are We Doing?

This weekend, Metro will perform maintenance and repairs on two of six lines. On the Green Line, trains will single track through the work zones and shuttle buses replace trains on segments of the Red Line between Rhode Island Ave and Takoma stations. 

On the Red Line, Metro will replace ties and prepare for the summer shutdown. That involves replacing switch gears, vegetation removal, and installing fiber-optic cables that aid in two-way communications for customers and the Metro Transit Police Department. On the Green Line, between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue, crews will perform tie renewal, deck waterproofing, and grout repairs.   

Shuttle Bus Information

Free shuttle buses are available between Rhode Island Avenue, Brookland, Fort Totten, and Takoma stations.
