Martha Jackson-Jarvis
Glass mosaic tile frieze
River Spirits of the Anacostia, by Washington, D.C. artist Martha Jackson Jarvis, will be located at Anacostia station on the Green Line in the District of Columbia. River Spirits depicts the majestic meandering and historic significance of the Anacostia River. The four-foot-high, 400-foot-long mosaic tile frieze pays homage to the rich natural and social histories found along one of the Nation's most treasured aquatic resources. The frieze will be installed in 2004.
