Before you get started

To apply for Metro positions, you must create an online profile.  Review the information below to help get you started. Please also refer to our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page for additional information.

• You must submit all applications  through the online Metro Career Center. Metro no longer accepts paper applications.
• Before applying for positions from a computer running the Microsoft Vista operating system, you may need to make one setting change.
• Collect current and prior employment information and education details before you begin your application. 
• Allow sufficient time to complete the application. The application cannot be saved until it is complete.  The process takes approximately 30 minutes.
• The system automatically times out after 20 minutes of inactivity.  If this happens, your information will be lost.  Your application is not saved until you have clicked the “Submit” button on the last page.
• ITo ensure accuracy, complete your online profile before applying  for a job. Incomplete profiles may not be considered.
• Do not use your Internet browser Back button. This will cause the page to expire, and your application will not be saved.  To toggle between pages, use the Next and Previous buttons at the bottom of each page.
• Add PS_HRMS@wmata.com to your trusted email recipient list to ensure successful delivery of any emails sent from our system
• Applications must be submitted online by midnight of the closing date on the posting.
• Metro reserves the right to cancel or end early any posted position.
• Posted salary ranges and offers are subject to union contract agreements and Metro salary administration guidelines.
