Metrobus route changes

The following routes have upcoming or recent schedule changes:

9A
Effective Sunday, May 4, northbound buses to the Pentagon will return to regular route via N. Washington St., Powhatan St., Slaters La. and Jefferson Davis Hwy. (U.S. Route 1).

Southbound buses to Huntington will operate over a modified detour as follows: southbound U.S. Route 1 bridge to N. Henry St., continue N. Henry St., right Fayette St., left Fayette St., left First St., left N. Patrick St., right Slaters Lane, right Powhatan St. and continue regular route.

U5
Effective Sunday, May 4, 2008, a new U5 route will follow the current U6 route except U5 buses will run via Ridge Road SE instead of turning on 37th Street and Ely Place SE. The U5 buses that currently run between Plummer Elementary School and Ridge Road and Anacostia Road SE will be changed to U6/ buses.

Every other U6 bus that runs before 10 p.m., and all U6 buses that run after 10 p.m. will be changed to U5 buses. Buses will continue to run every 15-20 minutes where the U5 and U6 run along the same route. Where the routes divide, buses will run every 30 to 40 minutes. New timetables will be available soon.
