While you're celebrating, visit our exhibit at the Great American State Fair

In celebration of Metro's 50th Anniversary and America's 250th, Metro is participating in the Great American State Fair with an exhibition called "America's Metro System," featuring Metro's very first 1000-series railcar restored to its 1976 look alongside a brand-new 8000-series railcar.

The exhibit runs June 25 through July 10, 2026, so pair your pop-up shopping trip with a stop by the exhibit while you're in town.

How to find our Great American State Fair exhibit:

We’re located on the National Mall near 4th and Madison Dr NW, with the nearest security entrances at 7th and Madison Dr NW or 7th and Jefferson Dr NW. The closest Metro stations are Archives and L'Enfant Plaza (Exit A).
