Red Line weekend track work June 22-24: Single tracking through two work zones
Metro's efforts to rebuild the Red Line will continue over the weekend of June 22-24, 2012. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through system closing on Sunday.
Red Line trains will single track between Judiciary Square and Rhode Island Avenue to allow for tie renewal, and between Medical Center and Grosvenor to allow for track maintenance and rail renewal.
Trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Grosvenor. On Saturday and Sunday, between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. each day, additional trains will operate between Medical Center and Judiciary Square, providing service every 10 minutes between those stations.
Customers should allow 10-15 minutes of additional travel time.
