Orange Line weekend track work June 29-July 1: Buses replace trains between Stadium-Armory & New Carrollton

Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, June 29, and continuing through system closing on Sunday, July 1, buses will replace Orange Line trains between Stadium-Armory and New Carrollton for track maintenance, tie and fastener renewal, grout work and platform rehabilitation.

Five Orange Line stations will be closed:

  • New Carrollton
  • Landover
  • Cheverly
  • Deanwood
  • Minnesota Avenue

Orange Line trains will operate between Vienna and Stadium-Armory at regular weekend intervals.

Shuttle bus service will operate on two routes:

  • Local service between all closed stations (between New Carrollton and Stadium Armory). Customers using local shuttle bus service should add up to 1 hour to their travel time.
  • Express service between New Carrollton and Stadium-Armory stations only (no intermediate stops). Customers using express shuttle bus service should add about 30 minutes to their travel time.  

Last Train Information

On Friday night, the last Orange Line trains to operate before track work begins will be:

  • Eastbound: The 8:59 p.m. departure from Vienna, arriving at Stadium-Armory at 9:42 p.m. and New Carrollton at 9:56 p.m.
  • Westbound: The 9:33 p.m. departure from New Carrollton, arriving at Stadium-Armory at 9:47 p.m. and Vienna at 10:30 p.m.
