Blue Line weekend track work July 13-15: Buses replace trains between Braddock Road & Pentagon City
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, July 13, and continuing through system closing on Sunday, July 15, buses will replace Blue Line trains between Braddock Road and Pentagon City stations to allow for tie renewal, insulator renewal, and cable installation to improve cell phone coverage.
Two stations will be closed:
- Reagan National Airport
- Crystal City
Blue Line trains will operate in two segments:
- Between Franconia-Springfield and Braddock Road at regular weekend intervals
- Between Pentagon City and Largo Town Center at regular weekend intervals
Shuttle buses will operate between Pentagon City and Braddock Road stations, making all intermediate station stops.
Customers traveling through the work zone should allow about 30 minutes of additional travel time.
On Friday night, the last Blue Line trains to operate through the area before work begins will be:
- To Largo Town Center: the 9:32 p.m. departure from Franconia-Springfield, arriving at Pentagon City at 9:54 p.m. and Largo Town Center at 10:36 p.m.
- To Franconia-Springfield: the 9:08 p.m. departure from Largo Town Center, arriving at Braddock Road at 9:59 p.m. and Franconia-Springfield at 10:12 p.m.
Last Train Information
On Friday and Saturday nights, the last Blue Line train from Franconia-Springfield will depart at 2:14 a.m. (15 minutes earlier than normal), arrive at Braddock Road at 2:27 a.m., depart Pentagon City at 2:50 a.m., depart Metro Center at 3:06 a.m., and arrive at Largo Town Center at 3:35 a.m. The last westbound Blue Line train will depart Largo Town Center at 2:24 a.m., depart Rosslyn at 3:16 a.m., arrive at Pentagon City at 3:21 a.m., depart Braddock Road at 3:50 a.m., and arrive at Franconia-Springfield at 4:03 a.m.
On Sunday night, the last eastbound Blue Line train from Franconia-Springfield will depart at 11:14 p.m. (15 minutes earlier than normal), arrive at Braddock Road at 11:27 p.m., depart Pentagon City at 11:50 p.m., depart Metro Center at 12:06 p.m., and arrive at Largo Town Center at 12:35 a.m. The last westbound Blue Line train will depart Largo Town Center at 11:24 p.m., depart Rosslyn at 12:16 a.m., arrive at Pentagon City at 12:21 a.m., depart Braddock Road at 12:50 a.m., and arrive at Franconia-Springfield at 1:03 a.m.
