Weekend service adjustments April 17-19 for rebuilding
UPDATED, April 18 --
Green Line service has resumed at Greenbelt station, after work requiring the shutdown has been completed early. Metrorail is operating normal Green Line train service between Greenbelt & Branch Av.
Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of April 17-19 with schedule adjustments on the Red Line.
This weekend, Orange, Silver, Blue, Green and Yellow line trains will operate at regular intervals. Red Line trains will operate every 15 minutes with additional trains between Grosvenor and Silver Spring during daytime hours.
Metro is investing $5.5 billion to install new rail, ties, platforms, escalators, signals, lighting, communication systems, and more. It represents the largest capital investment -- and work effort -- since the system's original construction in the early 1970s.
