Bus Detours due to Joint Development Construction Project at Dunn Loring Station

Detour Start Date: Monday, November 7, 2011
Detour End Date: Monday, June 30, 2014

Due to construction of a joint development project at Dunn Loring Station, the current bus terminal and kiss & ride lot will be closed for approximately 2.5 years, starting on Monday, November 7, 2011. Metrobus service will operate on the following detours during this time:

1B, 2A - Westbound

  • Trips to Dunn Loring will operate via regular route to Gallows Rd and Prosperity Av, then left on Prosperity Av to a temporary terminal stand west of Gallows Rd.

1B, 2A - Eastbound

  • Trips leaving Dunn Loring will operate via Prosperity Av, left on Merrilee Dr, left on Lee Hwy, and continue regular route at Gallows Rd to Ballston-MU Station.

1C - Eastbound

  • Trips to Dunn Loring will operate via regular route to Gallows Rd and Prosperity Av, then left on Prosperity Av to a temporary terminal stand west of Gallows Rd.

1C - Westbound

  • Trips leaving Dunn Loring will operate via Prosperity Av, left on Merrilee Dr, left on Lee Hwy, and continue regular route at Gallows Rd to Fair Oaks Mall.

2C – Eastbound and Westbound

  • Trips will serve temporary stops at a new crosswalk on Gallows Rd at Dunn Loring-Merrifield Station, then continue regular route to Ballston-MU Station or Tysons Corner.

2T - Southbound

  • Trips to Dunn Loring will serve a temporary stop at a new crosswalk on southbound Gallows Rd at Dunn Loring – Merrifield Station, and then continue Gallows Rd and right onto Prosperity Av to a temporary terminal stand west of Gallows Rd.

2T - Northbound

  • Trips leaving Dunn Loring will operate via Prosperity Av, left on Merrilee Drive, left on Lee Hwy, left on Gallows Rd to the temporary stop on northbound Gallows Rd opposite Dunn Loring-Merrifield Station, then continue on Gallows Rd, left on Cottage St, and continue regular route to Tysons Corner.
