Metro Transit Police seek public's assistance to identify person of interest

Metro Transit Police are seeking the public's assistance to identify a person of interest in connection with a first-degree assault that occurred at approximately 9 p.m. last night outside the Addison Road Metro Station.

The victim, an adult male, was waiting for a bus outside the station when he was approached by a male suspect. The two became involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Metro Transit Police responded and found the victim unconscious with severe head injuries. He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.  

The person of interest sought by MTPD detectives is believed to have used Metrorail yesterday evening, exiting the system at Southern Avenue where he fare evaded.
