Metro extends customer service hours, will be open seven days a week

Metro's customer service team is expanding its hours and will now be open on weekends to better assist customers with service-related questions. Starting Saturday, Aug. 27, Metro’s customer service team will be available from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

During the week, customers service hours will be extended by an hour (Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and social media representatives will be available during select large-scale special events.

Metro’s extension of customer service hours to seven days a week is in direct response to feedback provided by Metrorail and Metrobus customers to the senior leadership team during July and August “Meet Team Metro” events.

“Our priority is providing the best experience to our customers,” said General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Randy Clarke. “Extending our customer service hours is one way we can immediately assist customers with trip planning and real-time experiences as they use the system.”

Metro’s customer service team responds to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram social posts, emails and chat conversations. Customers also can get assistance with trip planning by calling 202-637-7000 or visiting wmata.com.

Metro encourages customers to sign up for MetroAlerts text or email messages to receive updated service information or follow us on Twitter @wmata, @Metrorailinfo, and @Metrobusinfo. To reach the customer service center, call 202-637-7000 or use the chat feature at wmata.com.
