Media Advisory: Metro to break ground on next zero-emission bus facility at Bladensburg Garage

On Wednesday, March 8, Metro General Manager and Chief Executive Officer Randy Clarke will be joined by officials from the Federal Transit Agency, the District of Columbia, and the community to break ground on Metro’s new Bladensburg Bus Garage. The LEED designed building will be Metro’s second zero-emission ready bus facility supporting Metro’s commitment to sustainability and improving the region’s air quality.

WHAT:

Groundbreaking event for the new, safer more modern Bladensburg Bus Garage

 

Media should arrive no later than 8:45 a.m. to set up. Please note street parking is available, however, there will be no on-site parking due to construction. Metro will provide shuttle service for people attending the event from the Fort Totten Station on the Red or Green lines. Shuttles will depart from Bus Bay G at 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. to allow additional travel time to the event site.
