Metrobus to resume normal service as of 3 p.m.

Beginning at 3 p.m. today, Metrobus will resume normal service on all routes as roads throughout the region have been treated and conditions improved. Routes that are not currently operating, will begin with their first scheduled trip after that time.

Metrobus opened this morning on a moderate snow service plan. While most roads in the region are passable, selected detours remain in effect and some routes remain suspended under a moderate service plan. Service will continue to operate on a moderate plan until normal service resumes later this afternoon.

Customers are reminded to use caution when entering and exiting the bus and at bus stops as walkways and sidewalks may not be cleared of snow and ice.

Metro expects to operate normal service tomorrow morning; however, refreezing is possible during the evening and overnight. Isolated detours may be necessary if conditions become hazardous and roads are impassable.

Customers should check wmata.com/alerts or sign up for MetroAlerts text or email messages for the latest service information. Metro will advise customers of any changes through MetroAlerts email and text messages, on Twitter @Metrobusinfo and on wmata.com.
