MEDIA ADVISORY: Metro, Amazon, Urban Atlantic, and Prince George’s County officials to break ground on affordable housing development at New Carrollton

On Wednesday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m., leaders from Metro, Amazon, and Urban Atlantic will be joined by elected leaders from Prince George’s County to break ground on The Margaux, a new housing development that will offer modern, transit-oriented housing at below-market rates.

The 291-unit building is part of a larger 2.3 million square foot, mixed-use joint development partnership between Metro and Urban Atlantic. The project has received funding from the Amazon Housing Equity Fund to preserve affordability for the duration of the property’s ground lease, 98 years, giving families much-needed financial certainty to build lives and careers near the conveniences of transit while reducing the need for and expense of car ownership.
