MEDIA ADVISORY: Van Hollen, Prince George’s leaders, Metro GM and Metro Board Member to mark reopening of improved Orange Line stations

On Friday, September 9 at 10 a.m., Metro General Manager and CEO Randy Clarke will be joined at New Carrollton Station by U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen, elected officials from Prince George’s County, and a member of Metro’s Board of Directors to mark the reopening of five Orange Line stations in Maryland and Washington, D.C. The stations recently reopened following their summer closure for customer experience improvements and platform reconstruction. 

The reopening of New Carrollton, Landover, Cheverly, Deanwood, and Minnesota Ave. stations marked the end of a four-year project to improve and rehabilitate 20 of Metro’s outdoor stations most in need of critical repairs and customer experience improvements.
