Synopsis

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) requires the services of qualified mechanical contractor to provide services for constructing and replacing the Farragut North & Dupont Circle Condenser Piping. Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, quality assurance/quality control, construction and environmental/security/safety superintendent, and field engineering services required for the construction of the project.

Contractor shall be responsible for all permits and inspections, except the DDOT Construction Permit. Contractor shall comply with Federal, State, and local jurisdictional requirements and codes pertaining to this project. Contractor shall also comply with all safety requirements and permits required by WMATA.

Period of Performance: 166 Calendar Days.

Estimated Cost Range: $1,500,000 to $5,000,000 Bid Guarantee, Insurance, and DBE: A bid guarantee of 5% of total bid price is required. The contract includes a DBE goal of 29% if the bid amount is greater than $150,000. An insurance certificate for Commercial General Liability coverages with WMATA included as an additional insured as stated in the IFB.

Pre-Bid Conference: Site Visit will be held immediately after the Pre-bid conference on September 15, 2017.

Bid Opening: Sealed bids are due no later than 2:00 pm on September 27, 2017 at WMATA’s Headquarter, 600 Fifth Street, Room 3C-02, NW, Washington, DC 20001, Office of Procurement and Materials, Attention Kamoru Banjo, Contract Administrator. Please identify the solicitation number and number of amendments received on the bid package.

Questions: As always, should you have any questions, Technical, Contractual or Administrative please email them to the Contract Administrator, Kamoru Banjo at kkbanjo@wmata.com no later than 5:00 PM, September 15, 2017. If addendum is issued resulting from questions and answers, it will be posted on WMATA website along with the solicitation. Bidder is responsible for checking WMATA website regularly for securing downloads of addendum and other communications.

The ability to download SOLICITATION from WMATA’s website has provided the Authority wide exposure and enhanced competition, but the ability to have an accurate list of interested parties to the solicitation was virtually impossible.
