Business Spotlight: Ribeiro Construction

Business Spotlight Ribeiro Construction

Summer is in full swing, and around-the-clock work on the final phase of Metro’s Platform Improvement Project continues. Crews are busy installing new customer experience enhancements and reconstructing station platforms, including employees at Ribeiro Construction, a concrete contractor for the project since 2019

Through the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, Metro shows its commitment to support local businesses like Ribeiro Construction, a family-owned business founded by Army veteran Al Ribeiro and his daughter Michelle Tameling in 1996. Ribeiro’s all-in approach can be summed up with the company’s motto: “One team, one fight to get the job done.” Since the first phase of the project, Ribeiro Construction has been responsible for the coordination and installation of concrete for the platform, including platform edges, topping slabs and spalls.

By the time the project is completed in September, Ribeiro Construction will have repaired 75,000 linear feet of cracks in concrete; completed 10,000 square feet of wall and flat surface repair; and placed 3,000 cubic yards of concrete on station platforms!
