Temporary Detour: 2021 Arlington County Independence Day Roadway Closures, July 4

Routes Affected: 7A, 7F, 16A, 16C, 16E, 16G, 16H
Routes 7A, 7F, 16E, and 16G will detour due to road closures for the 4th of July festivities in Arlington County. If you're traveling into the District of Columbia, Independence Day festivities will occur near the National Mall, which will impact Metrobus service. View the links for additional information. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow additional travel time.
The following roadways will be closed to accommodate the festivities:
Route 50 – Near Rosslyn – 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Exit Ramp from Westbound Route 50 to N. Lynn St (Rosslyn exit)
- Exit Ramp from Eastbound Route 50 to N. Meade St (Rosslyn exit)
US Marine Corps War Memorial – 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- N. Meade St at Marshall Dr
- Exit Ramp from N. Meade St to Route 50
- Eastbound Route 110 S. onto Marshall
- N. Meade St near the Route 50 Ramps
Radnor/Fort Myer Heights – Near the US Marine Corps War Memorial – 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Ramp from Arlington Blvd East to N. Rhodes St/N. Rolfe St/N. Queen St
- N. Rhodes St and Arlington Blvd Access Road (Emergency Vehicles Only)
- N. Rhodes St and 14th St N. (Local Traffic Only)
- N. Nash St and Arlington Blvd Access Rd
- Arlington Blvd and N. Meade St
- N. Nash St and 14th St N.
- N. Meade St and 14th St N.
Foxcroft Heights – Near the Airforce Memorial – 4:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
- Columbia Pike in both directions at S. Oak Street
- The exit from Westbound Washington Boulevard to Eastbound Columbia Pike/S. Orme St
- Columbia Pike and S. Joyce St
- Southgate Rd and S. Oak St
- Columbia Pike and S. Gate Rd
- Columbia Pike and S. Ode St
Memorial Bridge/Memorial Circle
The following routes will detour:
7A, 7F Lincolnia-North Fairlington northbound toward the Pentagon
- Buses begin detouring on S. Washington Blvd at I-395 N, resuming regular route on S. Eads St at Rotary Dr.

16A, 16C Columbia Pike eastbound toward the Pentagon
- Buses begin detouring on S. Washington Blvd at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on S. Eads St at S. Rotary Dr.
16A, 16C Columbia Pike westbound toward Annandale/Culmore
- Buses begin detouring on I-395 S. at Army-Navy Dr, resuming regular route on Columbia Pike at S. Joyce St.
16E Columbia Pike eastbound toward Franklin Square
- Buses begin detouring on S. Washington Blvd at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on S. Hayes St at Army-Navy Dr.
16E Columbia Pike westbound toward Culmore
- Buses begin detouring on I-395 S. at Army-Navy Dr, resuming regular route on Columbia Pike at S. Joyce St.
16G, 16H Columbia Heights West-Pentagon City eastbound toward Pentagon City
- Buses begin detouring on S. Washington Blvd at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on S. Hayes St at Army-Navy Dr.
