Stop Closures and Long-Term Detours: 4th St NE between Rhode Island Ave and Adams St, August 21

Routes Affected: D8, G8

The northbound route D8 and eastbound route G8 will operate on a long-term detour (30 months) during DC Water and Sewer Authority’s utility work. Northbound 4th St NE between Rhode Island Ave and Adams St will be closed.

Buses will utilize portions of 12th St NE, Edgewood St NE, Franklin St NE, Douglas St NE and 4th St NE between Douglas St and Franklin St to transport customers. Due to narrow roadways, traffic congestion may build on Edgewood St NE between 4th St and 7th St and on 4th St NE between Edgewood St and Rhode Island Ave. Plan ahead to allow additional travel time.

Route D8 to Washington Hospital Center will not serve the following stops:

Route G8 to Avondale will not serve the following stop:

• 4th St NE & Bryant St (Stop ID #1001770)

D8 Hospital Center northbound toward Washington Hospital Center

Buses begin detouring on Rhode Island Ave NE at Washington Pl, to resume regular route on Franklin St NE at 4th St.

• First stop served after buses resume regular route: Franklin St NE & Trinity College

Note: Customers who would normally board the northbound D8 along Edgewood Rd NE at the following stops:
