Weekend Metrorail service for Saturday, March 27 through Sunday, March 28

Summary of weekend service for Saturday, March 27 through Sunday, March 28:

During the weekend of Saturday, March 27 through Sunday, March 28, Metrorail will operate from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Trains will serve 89 of 91 stations, with scheduled service adjustments after 10 p.m. on the Red (Sunday only), Yellow and Green lines. 

Due to the Platform Improvement Project, customers are advised there will be no Blue Line service through May 23. Additional Yellow Line service will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Mt Vernon Sq/National Airport.

Highlights: 

Red Line Trains every 12-18 minutes.

Blue Line No train service. Additional Yellow Line service will operate between Franconia-Springfield and Mt Vernon Sq/National Airport.

Orange Line Silver Line Green Line Trains every 15-20 minutes.

Yellow Line Trains every 15-20 minutes operating in two segments: Huntington - Greenbelt and Franconia-Springfield - Mt Vernon Sq/National Airport.

Under federal law and for your safety and the safety of others, customers are required to wear face masks while traveling on Metro. 

Red Line Red Line

  • Trains operate every 12-15 minutes until 10 p.m.
  • After 10 p.m., Sunday only, due to leak mitigation:
    • Single tracking between Medical Center and Grosvenor-Strathmore 
    • Trains every 18 minutes until closing.

Blue Line Blue Line

  • Due to Platform Improvement Project:
    • No Blue Line service. Franconia-Springfield and Van Dorn St. stations will be served by Additional Yellow Line service operating between Franconia-Springfield and Mt Vernon Sq/National Airport.
    • Arlington Cemetery Station closed. Free shuttles provided between Rosslyn, Arlington Cemetery and Pentagon. View wmata.com/platforms for additional travel alternatives.

Orange Line Orange Line 

  • Trains operate every 15-20 minutes.

Silver Line Silver Line

  • Trains operate every 15-20 minutes.  
  • Due to Platform Improvement Project:
    • Addison Rd station closed. Trains will pass through the station without stopping. Free shuttle buses provided between Capitol Heights and Addison Rd.

Yellow Line Yellow Line

  • Trains operate every 15-20 minutes in two segments: Huntington - Greenbelt and Franconia-Springfield-Mt Vernon Sq/National Airport.
  • After 10 p.m., due to fastener renewal:
    • Single tracking between L'Enfant Plaza and Mt Vernon Sq.
    • Trains originating from Fraconia-Springfield will operate to/from National Airport. (Service changes may occur as early as 9 p.m.) 

Green Line Green Line

  • Trains operate every 15-20 minutes.
  • After 10 p.m., due to fastener renewal:
    • Single tracking between L'Enfant Plaza and Mt Vernon Sq.
