Metro stations on Blue/Yellow lines reopen Monday as planned: Shuttle service ends

Metro has announced that all six Blue and Yellow line stations south of Reagan National Airport—Braddock Rd, King St-Old Town, Eisenhower Ave, Huntington, Van Dorn St and Franconia-Springfield—will reopen as scheduled on Monday, September 9, with completely rebuilt platforms and many new station improvements. With the resumption of rail service, Metro will no longer run shuttle buses from the stations. All five shuttles will end service on September 8.

Metrobus routes that were supplemented during the shutdown will resume service as follows:

8S, 8Z - Supplemental midday trips ended on Friday, September 6
10A - Supplemental rush-hour trips ended on Friday, September 6; service will continue to serve the South Side of Huntington Station
11Y - Supplemental mid-day trips ended on Friday, September 6. Supplemental peak period trips will operate through the end of service Wednesday, September 11.  See schedule 
21A - Supplemental midday trips ended on Friday, September 6
Metroway - Supplemental weekend trips will end operation after the end of service on Sunday, September 8.

The Pentagon Transit Center will revert to pre-Platform Improvement Project bus assignments on Monday, September 16, for the following routes:

  • DASH buses will return to bus bay U1
  • Routes 10A, 10E will resume serving bus bay U2
  • ART buses will resume serving bus bay U3
