Routes Affected: 16A, 16C, 16E, and 16M

On Monday, January 23 buses will detour due to facilitate the expansion of Arlington National Cemetery and the realignment of Columbia Pike near South Joyce St in Arlington, Virginia. Buses will detour on South Nash St and Southgate Rd. Customers may board/exit new bus stop along Southgate Rd. The eastbound bus stop for routes 16A and 16C on Columbia Pike at South Joyce St (bus stop ID#6000789) will be permanently closed. New detours and bus stop changes will be featured on busETA in March 2023.

• Buses begin detouring on S Nash St at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on Southgate Rd at S Nash St.

16A Columbia Pike westbound toward Annandale

• Buses begin detouring on Southgate Rd at S Joyce St, resuming regular route on S Nash St at Southgate Rd.

Customers may board buses along American Dr for eastbound trips toward Pentagon Transit Center.

Customers are permitted to remain on the bus and exit at all bus stops from Patriot Dr / Americana Dr to Heritage Dr / McWhorter Pl.

16C Columbia Pike eastbound toward Pentagon

• Buses begin detouring on S Nash St at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on Southgate Rd at S Nash St.

16C Columbia Pike westbound toward Culmore

• Buses begin detouring on Southgate Rd at S Joyce St, resuming regular route on South Nash St at Southgate Rd.

Customers may board eastbound buses on Vista Drive, Lake St, and Knollwood Dr without payment of additional fare.

16E Columbia Pike eastbound toward Franklin Square

• Buses begin detouring on S Nash St at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on Southgate Rd at S Nash St.

16E Columbia Pike westbound toward Culmore

• Buses begin detouring on Southgate Rd at S Joyce St, resuming regular route on S Nash St at Southgate Rd.

Customers may board eastbound buses on Vista Drive, Lake St, and Knollwood Dr without payment of additional fare.

16M Columbia Pike-National Landing eastbound toward Crystal City

• Buses begin detouring on S Nash St at Columbia Pike, resuming regular route on Southgate Rd at S Nash St.

The first eastbound passenger boarding stop is on Leesburg Pike at Gorham St (bus stop ID#5000965).

16M Columbia Pike-National Landing westbound toward Skyline City

• Buses begin detouring on Southgate Rd at S Joyce St resuming regular route on S Nash St at Southgate Rd.

Customers may board westbound buses at all bus stops between Leesburg Pike/South George Mason Dr and Seminary Rd/Magnolia Lane.

Customers are permitted to remain on buses for their eastbound trip without payment of additional fare.
