Metrobus to maintain limited service through closing tonight, resume moderate service Friday morning

Advisory Effective: 2/19/21 - 2/19/21

Metrobus will remain on a severe snow service plan for the remainder of the night operating along major roads only. With a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and ice, conditions remain hazardous particularly on secondary roads and side streets that may have limited treatment. Customers may experience delays and additional routes may be suspended if roads are impassable. Currently, 54 of the 58 Metrobus routes that operate under a severe snow plan are operating.

Beginning Friday morning, Metrobus will operate on a moderate snow service plan providing service to customers on 110 routes. Under a moderate service plan, detours will be in effect and some routes may be suspended. Roads may refreeze overnight as temperatures are expected to remain below freezing. Additional service may be suspended on some routes as necessary, particularly those with hilly terrain, sharp curves or other areas prone to hazardous conditions.

Allow additional travel time due to the possibility of delays and increased wait times due to road conditions.

Customers are encouraged to sign up for MetroAlerts text and email messages to receive the latest service updates. Additional service information will be provided through MetroAlerts, on the Status and Alerts page at wmata.com, and on Metro's social media channels @Metrorailinfo and @Metrobusinfo.
