Temporary Detour: Annual Takoma Park Independence Day Parade, July 4, 2022

The 2022 Annual Takoma Park Independence Parade will take place from 10am to 1pm, during this time Metrobuses will detour due to event street closures. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible. Consider Metrorail as an alternate travel option.
Street Closures:
• Ethan Allen Avenue between New Hampshire Avenue & Carroll Avenue
• Carroll Avenue between Ethan Allen Avenue & Maple Street, NW
• Maple Street between Carroll Avenue & Grant Street
The following routes will detour:
F2 Chillum Road northbound to Takoma Station
- Buses begin detouring on Eastern Ave NE at Kansas Ave, resuming regular route at Takoma Station.
F2 Chillum Road southbound to Cheverly
- Buses begin detouring leaving Takoma Station, resuming regular route on Eastern Ave NE at Kansas Ave.
F4 New Carrollton – Silver Spring eastbound to New Carrollton Station
- Buses begin detouring on Philadelphia Ave at Piney Branch Rd, resuming regular route on East West Highway at New Hampshire Ave.
F4 New Carrollton – Silver Spring westbound to Silver Spring Station
- Buses begin detouring on East-West Highway at New Hampshire Ave, resuming regular route on Philadelphia Ave at Piney Branch Rd.
