Temporary Detour: 100th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, November 30

On Wednesday, November 30, Metrobus routes in the downtown Washington DC area will detour due to the 2022 Annual Christmas Tree Lighting from 12pm until 8pm. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible. Consider Metrorail as an alternate travel option.

• G Street between 17th Street and 18th Street, NW
• New York Avenue between 17th Street and 18th Street, NW
• Constitution Avenue between 18th Street and 14th Street, NW
• 15th Street between H Street and Madison Drive, NW
(Traffic will be allowed to flow south on 15th Street from Madison Drive, NW)

The following routes will detour or turnback:

- Buses will operate between East Falls Church Station and a temporary bus stop located at Rosslyn Station on N. Moore St. (Bus Bay D)
16Y Columbia Pk- Farragut Square
- Buses will operate between Barcroft and a temporary bus stop located at Rosslyn Station on N. Moore St. (Bus Bay D)
31, 33 Wisconsin Avenue
- Buses will operate between Friendship Heights Station and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave at 26th St, NW. (Stop ID #1001299)
33 Wisconsin Avenue northbound to Friendship Heights Station
- Buses begin detouring on Pennsylvania Ave at 13th St NW, resuming regular route on I St at 15th St NW.
33 Wisconsin Avenue southbound to Federal Triangle
- Buses begin detouring at Washington Circle and Pennsylvania Ave, resuming regular route on Pennsylvania Ave at 13th St NW.
32, 36 Pennsylvania Avenue
- Buses will operate between Southern Ave Station | Naylor Rd Station and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave at 21st St, NW. (Stop ID #1001182)
42, 43 Mount Pleasant northbound to Mt. Pleasant
- Buses begin detouring on New Hampshire Ave at H St NW, resuming regular route on 17th St at I St NW.
42, 43 Mount Pleasant southbound to Kennedy Center
- Buses begin detouring on Connecticut Ave at I St NW, resuming regular route on New Hampshire Ave at H St NW.
G8 Rhode Island Avenue eastbound to Avondale
- Buses begin detouring on 17th St at I St NW, resuming regular route 13th St at I St NW.
G8 Rhode Island Avenue westbound to Farragut Square
- Regular Route, No Detour.
