Temporary Detour: State of the Union Address, February 7

On Tuesday February 7, Metrobuses will detour due to the State of the Union Address at the US Capitol Building and Capitol Square from 5pm to 10pm. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible.

Routes Affected: 32, 36, P6

• 1st Street, NW between Constitution Ave NW and Independence Ave SW 

• Independence Ave between Washington Ave SW and Second St SE 

• Constitution Ave between Second St NE and Louisiana Ave NW 

• 1st Street, NW between Louisiana Ave & Constitution

• New Jersey Ave between Louisiana Ave & Constitution

• Delaware Ave between Columbus Circle & Constitution

• 1st Street, NE between Columbus Circle & Constitution

• E Street between Louisiana Ave & 2nd Street, NE

• 2nd Street, NE between Constitution & Independence

• 1st Street, SW between C Street & Independence Ave, SW

• South Capitol Street between D Street & Independence Ave, SW

• 1st Street, NE between C Street & Independence Ave, SW

• New Jersey Ave between D Street & Independence Ave, SW 

• C street, SW between 1st Street, SE & 1st Street, SW

• Maryland Avenue between 3rd Street and 1st Street, SW

• Pennsylvania Avenue between 3rd Street & 1st Street, NW

The following routes will detour:

32, 36 Pennsylvania Ave eastbound towards Southern Ave/Naylor Rd 

32, 36 Pennsylvania Ave westbound towards Potomac Park 

P6 Anacostia – Eckington northbound towards Rhode Island Ave Station

P6 Anacostia – Eckington southbound towards Anacostia Station
