Metrorail weekend service adjustments for Saturday, November 27 through Sunday, November 28

Summary of  weekend service adjustments for Saturday, November 27 and Sunday, November 28: 

During the weekend of Saturday, November 27 through Sunday, November 28, Metrorail will operate from 7 a.m. - 1 a.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. - midnight on Sunday, serving 89 of 91 stations with scheduled service adjustments on the Red, Blue and Silver lines.  

Customers are advised that service will continue to operate at reduced levels through the remainder of the year as Metro develops a test plan and restoration plan to return the 7000-series railcars to service.

In addition, Shady Grove and Rockville stations remain closed through mid-January, for canopy reconstruction and repairs. Free shuttle buses are available. View the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project page for additional details.

Red Line Trains every 12 minutes. Shady Grove and Rockville stations closed. Free shuttle buses provided.  

Blue Line Silver Line Trains every 24 minutes. Single tracking between Morgan Blvd and Largo Town Center.

Orange Line Trains every 24 minutes. 

Yellow Line Green Line Trains every 20 minutes. 

Under federal law and for your safety and the safety of others, customers are required to wear face masks while traveling on Metro buses, trains, MetroAccess vehicles and at indoor stations.

Red Line Red Line

  • Trains operate every 12 minutes.
  • Due to the Rockville Canopy Replacement Project
    • Trains operate between Twinbrook and Glenmont only; Shady Grove and Rockville stations closed.
    • Free shuttle buses between Shady Grove, Rockville and Twinbrook every 10 minutes from system opening until closing.

  • Trains operate every 24 minutes.
  • Due to radio cable installation:
    • Single tracking between Morgan Blvd and Largo Town Center.

Orange Line Orange Line 

  • Trains operate every 24 minutes. 

Silver Line  Silver Line

  • Trains operate every 24 minutes.

    • Single tracking between Morgan Blvd and Largo Town Center.

Yellow Line  Yellow Line

  • Trains operate every 20 minutes. 

Green Line Green Line

  • Trains operate every 20 minutes.
