Weekend Track Maintenance To Affect Metro's Blue, Yellow, Orange and Green Lines

Track maintenance at the Braddock Road Metrorail station this weekend will significantly impact Blue and Yellow Line service south of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail station from 10 p.m. Friday, March 2, to midnight Sunday, March 4. Customers traveling between Franconia-Springfield, Huntington and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations can expect significant delays as inbound and outbound trains share one track through the work area.

The following Blue and Yellow Line weekend service pattern will be in effect:

South of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:

• Yellow Line shuttle service trains will operate every 15 minutes between the Huntington and King Street Metrorail stations. Customers at King Street will be required to transfer to a Blue Line train toward Washington, D.C.

• Blue Line trains will operate every 30 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport Metrorail stations. All Blue Line trains will share one track between Van Dorn Street and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

North of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport:

• Yellow and Blue Line trains will operate on normal weekend schedules (every 12 to 20 minutes) between Fort Totten and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Largo Town Center and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, respectively.

• All Yellow and Blue Line trains from Fort Totten and Largo Town Center will terminate at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Customers traveling beyond the airport will need to transfer to a shuttle train to King Street, Huntington and Franconia-Springfield.

Orange Line Track Maintenance

This weekend, inbound and outbound trains between Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and West Falls Church-VT/UVA on the Orange Line will share one track while Metro conducts track maintenance from 10 p.m., Friday, March 2, to midnight, Sunday, March 4.

To help expedite rail service into downtown Washington, every other Orange Line traveling to Vienna/Fairfax-GMU will terminate at the West Falls Church-VT/UVA Metrorail station and return to New Carrollton.

Customers traveling between Vienna/Fairfax-GMU and West Falls Church-VT/UVA should add up to 20 minutes of travel time for their trips.

Green Line Rail Car Testing

Inbound and outbound trains between Greenbelt and College Park will share one track while new trains are tested on the Green Line this Saturday, March 3, and Sunday, March 4, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Customers traveling between these locations should add up to 10 minutes of travel time for their trips.
