Metrobus service changes at Seven Corners begin March 10

Service changes on 10 Metrobus lines will be implemented starting Saturday, March 10, to accommodate construction of the Seven Corners Transit Center facility in Fairfax County. The facility will be located on a portion of the lower level parking lot at the Seven Corners shopping center, adjacent to the eastbound service roadway of Arlington Boulevard.

Construction will take approximately one year and necessitates closing the Castle Road entrance and lower level west end entrance to the parking lot. To continue serving Metrobus stops at the intersection of Castle Road, all Metrobus service will be temporarily removed from the shopping center and remain on Leesburg Pike. The service changes will affect Metrobus Routes 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 4A, 4B, 4H, 28A and 28B.

Wilson Boulevard-Farifax Line, Routes 1B, 1C, 1D, 1E and 1F:

Eastbound 1B, 1C, 1D, 1F throughtrips from Inova Fair Oaks Hospital, Fairfax Circle, Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metrorail Station, Inova Fairfax Hospital – Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, turn left on Patrick Henry Drive and continue to the Ballston-MU Metrorail station.

Eastbound 1E, 1F trips originating at Seven Corners – Metrobuses will start at the terminal stand on the south side of Castle Place, west of Castle Road, then continue on Castle Place, turn left on Castle Road, turn Right on Leesburg Pike, turn Left on Patrick Henry Drive and continue to the Ballston-MU Metrorail station.

Westbound 1B, 1C, 1D, 1F through trips to Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metrorail Station, Fairfax Circle, Inova Fair Oaks Hospital – Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, turn left on the Arlington Boulevard (Route 50) westbound service roadway and to the westbound terminals.

Westbound 1E and 1F/ trips terminating at Seven Corners - Trips scheduled to terminate in the shopping center (all 1E trips plus designated 1F/ Saturday and Sunday trips) - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, turn left on eastbound Leesburg Pike, turn right on Sleepy Hollow Road, turn left on Castle Place and continue to the terminal stand on the south side of Castle Place.

Pershing Drive-Arlington Boulevard Line, Routes 4A, 4B, 4H:

Eastbound 4A trips from Culmore - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, u-turn at the intersection of Seven Corners from westbound to eastbound Leesburg Pike, continue on eastbound Leesburg Pike, turn left on Patrick Henry Drive and continue to the Rosslyn Metrorail Station.

Eastbound 4B, 4H trips from Seven Corners - Metrobuses will start at the terminal stand on the south side of Castle Place, then turn left on Castle Road, turn right on Leesburg Pike, turn left on Patrick Henry Drive and continue the Rosslyn Metrorail Station.

Westbound 4A trips to Culmore - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, u-turn at the intersection of Seven Corners from westbound to eastbound Leesburg Pike, continue on eastbound Leesburg PIke, and continue to Culmore.

Westbound 4B, 4H to Seven Corners - Trips scheduled to terminate in the shopping center - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike, turn right on Sleepy Hollow Road, turn left on Castle Place and continue to the terminal stand on the south side of Castle Place.

Alexandria-Tysons Corner Line, Routes 28A, 28B:

Eastbound - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike and continue to Baileys Crossroads and the King Street Metrorail Station.

Westbound - Metrobuses will follow their present routes to the intersection of Leesburg Pike and Castle Road, then cross Castle Road, continue on Leesburg Pike and continue to Tysons Corner Center.
