Metrobus driver facing discipline after accident

A Metrobus operator who rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a red light at 10:30 p.m.,Wednesday, March 14, was charged with following too closely to the vehicle in front of her. The accident took place in the 200 block of Seventh St., NW. The Metropolitan Police Officer who responded to the scene administered a standard field sobriety test, placed the driver under arrest and transported her to the U.S. Capitol Police for further testing. There were no reported injuries.

As a result of the accident and charge, the bus operator, who has been a Metrobus operator since November 14, 2005, is on administrative leave and is facing disciplinary action, the most severe of which is possible dismissal.
