Metrobus operator dismissed

A Metrobus operator who rear-ended a vehicle that was stopped at a red light in the 200 block of Seventh Street, NW, at 10:30 p.m. on March 14 was terminated from her position as bus operator on Wednesday, March 21.

The bus operator was charged with following too closely to the vehicle in front of her and with driving under the influence. There were no reported injuries at the accident scene.

The operator was placed on administrative leave following the accident. She had been a Metrobus operator since November 2005.
