Customer safety emphasized during high winds

With gusty winds forecast for the remainder of the day, Metro reminds its passengers to take extra care while waiting for trains and buses outdoors. Metro urges riders to stand away from the platform edge while waiting for a Metrorail train and step back from the curb while waiting for a Metrobus.

“A sudden, strong gust may take a person by surprise, causing him or her to lose balance. We’re emphasizing personal safety because we don’t want anyone accidentally falling onto the tracks or into the street,” said Deputy General Manager Gerald Francis.
