Weekend Track Maintenance and Rail Car Testing to Affect Metro's Red, Blue, and Green Lines

Track maintenance and rail car testing on the Blue, and Green Lines this weekend (May 4, 5 and 6) will cause inbound and outbound trains take turns sharing one track.

Red Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling on the Red Line this weekend between the Friendship Heights and Medical Center Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 p.m., Friday May 4, to midnight, Sunday, May 6.

Blue Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling on the Blue Line this weekend between the Stadium Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 p.m., Friday May 4, to midnight, Sunday, May 6.

Green Line Rail Car Testing

Metrorail customers traveling on the Green Line this weekend should add up to 10 to15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of new railcar testing. Inbound and outbound trains operating between the Greenbelt and College Park Metrorail stations will share one track while new trains are tested from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday, May 5, and 6.
