Weekday Track Maintenance and Rail Car Testing to Affect Metro's Red, Blue, Orange and Green Lines

Track maintenance and rail car testing on the Red, Blue, Orange and Green lines this week (May 14 to May 18) will cause inbound and outbound trains take turns sharing one track.

Red Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Silver Spring and Forest Glen Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 a.m., to 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18.

Metrorail customers traveling between the Friendship Heights and Medical Center Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 p.m., to midnight, Monday, May 14, to Thursday, May 17.

Blue Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Addison Road-Seat Pleasant and Morgan Boulevard Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 a.m., to 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18.

Metrorail customers traveling between the Stadium-Armory and Addison Road-Seat Pleasant Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 p.m., to midnight, Monday, May 14, to Thursday, May 17.

Orange Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Cheverly and New Carrollton Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18. 

Green Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling between the Prince George’s Plaza and College Park Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. Inbound and outbound trains between these locations will share one track from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18.

Green Line Rail Car Testing

Metrorail customers traveling between the Greenbelt and College Park Metrorail stations should add up to 15 minutes of travel time for their trips because of new railcar testing. Inbound and outbound trains operating between these locations will share one track from 8 p.m. to midnight, Monday, May 14, to Friday, May 18.
