Weekend Track Maintenance and Rail Car Testing to Affect Metro's Red, Blue, Yellow and Green Lines

Track maintenance and rail car testing on the Red, Blue, Yellow and Green Lines this weekend (May 18, 19 and 20) will cause inbound and outbound trains take turns sharing one track.

Blue and Yellow Line Track Maintenance

Metrorail customers traveling on the Blue and Yellow lines on Saturday between the Pentagon City and Braddock Road stations will experience major delays and should add up to 30 minutes of travel time for their trips because of track maintenance. As a result of this work, every other Blue Line train traveling to the Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station will terminate at the Pentagon City Metrorail station and return to the Largo Town Center Metrorail station. Every other Yellow Line train traveling to the Huntington Metrorail station will terminate at the Pentagon City Metrorail station and return to the Fort Totten Metrorail station. Metrorail customers south of the Pentagon City Metrorail station will need to plan accordingly, and build extra time into their schedules.
