Dave J. Kubicek named Metro's Chief Mechanical Officer

Dave J. Kubicek has joined Metro as Assistant General Manager, Chief Mechanical Officer, responsible for rolling stock engineering, railcar design, railcar procurements, railcar maintenance, shops, warranty, quality assurance, training and storerooms.

Mr. Kubicek has 20 years of experience in rail and mass transit, most recently at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority where he was the Deputy Executive Officer of Rail Fleet Services. In Los Angeles, his duties included railcar engineering, design, procurement, fleet maintenance, shops, traction power, track infrastructure, quality assurance, warranty, and training for all subway and light-rail alignments.

Mr. Kubicek also is a member of the American Public Transportation Association, supporting efforts in the association’s Rail Rodeo and Railcar Maintenance Standards Committees.

He began his transportation career at Dallas Area Rapid Transit, joining at the level of technician and working his way to Senior Manager of Rail Fleet Services.

Mr. Kubicek has an Occupational Studies Degree from University of Technical Institute in Houston, Maintenance Management from Clemson University, Facilities Management from American Management Association, and Digital Systems, Analogue Systems and Basic Telecommunications from Grayson College in Denison, TX.
