Milo Victoria Appointed Metro's Chief Operating Officer for Bus Operations

Milo Victoria has joined Metro as Chief Operating Officer, Bus Operations. He will be in charge of the day-to-day operations of Metro’s fleet of 1,500 buses, serving more than 360 bus routes, and more than 12,000 bus stops across 1,500 square miles.

Additionally, Victoria will supervise the activities of Bus Transportation and Bus Maintenance and will report to the Deputy General Manager. He will be responsible for the overall planning, operation, parts distribution and maintenance programs of bus service provided by Metro as well as safety, efficiency and responsiveness of the system to the public it serves.

Victoria has 30 years of experience in transit, most recently at the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority, where he has been the Deputy Executive Officer of Maintenance and Rebuild since 2002. His responsibilities included the overall performance of the central maintenance functions within the Department of Operations with a fleet of 2,600 buses and 1,800 pieces of non-revenue vehicles. Additionally, Victoria was also in charge of heavy maintenance, complete mid-life rebuilding of revenue equipment, quality assurance and fleet management. He also managed a combined operating and capital budgets of $82 million.

He began his transportation career at the Southern California Rapid Transit District, where he started as a mechanic and worked his way to Manager of Labor and Administration.

Born in Ciudad del Carmen in Mexico, Victoria, 53, is a member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials’ Steering Committee for Hispanics in Transit.

He earned a bachelor of science in business management from the University of Phoenix.
