Man arrested after stabbing incident on Metrobus

The Metro Transit Police arrested Ronald David Bastian of Bowie, Md., and charged him with attempted murder, first degree assault and related charges immediately following a stabbing on a Metrobus around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 14.

Bastian, 43, was apprehended on Metrobus 6145 after he allegedly stabbed a fellow bus rider after the two men had a verbal argument on the bus. The bus was traveling the B22 route from New Carrollton to Bowie State University, and stopped at Kenhill Drive and Kemmerton Lane in Bowie at the time of the incident.

The victim, an adult male, was transported to Prince George’s Hospital and admitted in critical condition.

Metro Transit Police worked with Bowie Police at the scene and continues its investigation.
