Metro to Survey Riders of Six Metrobus Lines

Survey Part of Plan to Improve Key Bus Routes in District

Metro will be conducting a survey of Metrobus riders on routes 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, and M6 during the last week of June in an effort to improve those routes.

Riders of the 30s and M6 Lines will be able to obtain surveys from project staff who will be distributing the surveys at the busiest stops along the routes; in the schedule racks on the buses; and on-line at the project website, www.metrobus-30s-dc.com. Riders may complete the surveys during their trip and drop them in marked pouches on the buses, or they may mail them using a postage-paid envelope.

Metro officials are looking to identify factors that impact passengers in areas where service needs the most improvement; safety and security at bus stops and on buses; and travel times and wait times for buses. Riders will also be asked to rate the quality of buses, bus stops and drivers.

The survey is part of a study into ways of improving transit service along this important corridor in the District. The current 30s Line service – which runs along Pennsylvania Avenue from Naylor Road and Southern Avenue Metrorail Stations to the Foggy Bottom area and along Wisconsin Avenue from Georgetown to Friendship Heights – includes some of the highest ridership routes in the Metrobus system.

The public outreach effort will continue in July when Metro plans to hold a public meeting to discuss improvements to the 30s and M6 lines. Metro is working in partnership with the District Department of Transportation on the survey.
