New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated July 13, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about weekend track work, the Fredrick Douglass Memorial Bridge Closure and its impact on several Metrobus routes. It also calls on the public for help in finding a suspect involved in an aggravated assault case at the Woodley Park Metrorail station on May 17.

The audiocast also provides information about a new and helpful feature for web-enabled cell phones and PDAs called WMATA mobile, the HipHop Theater Festival, upcoming Disadvantaged Business Enterprise procurement conference, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Sounds in the Square and sporting events.

Listeners can send comments and suggestions for future audiocasts to ontrack@wmata.com.

Online users can download the audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices, such as an iPod or zune. In addition, the Metro audiocast is now available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title to find the Metro audiocast. Individuals can also subscribe on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
