Metro announces its plans for Thursday's DC United/Los Angeles Galaxy soccer match at RFK Stadium

Free shuttle bus service to Union Station after the game

As DC United prepares to host David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy Thursday August 9, at RFK Stadium, Metro is also preparing to handle the anticipated crowds with extra trains, personnel and free shuttle bus service to Union Station after the soccer match.

On Thursday afternoon, Metro will operate its full rush hour service with six-car trains starting at 3 p.m.
People attending the game should use the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station on the Blue and Orange Lines. The entrance closest to the stadium is located at 19th Street and Independence Avenue, S.E. The second entrance is two blocks away at 19th Street between C and Burke Streets, S.E. Riders should use both entrances after the game.

After the game, Metro will provide free one-way shuttle bus service from RFK Stadium to Union Station to connect people to the Red Line. These buses will be staged on the opposite side of the street from the Armory, facing 19th Street.

Metro will also deploy additional trains, including eight-car trains, if necessary, to clear the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station platform at the conclusion of the game.

Metro will have additional station managers, rail supervisors, and Transit Police at the Stadium-Armory Metrorail station to assist customers with service questions, and directions how to get to and from the stadium.

Metro reminds everyone attending the game to make sure they have enough round-trip fare on their farecard or their SmarTrip card, and they must have a SmarTrip card when exiting a Metro parking facility.
