Four Metrobus Routes Return to Normal With the Completion of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Construction Project

With the completion of the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge construction project, Metrobus service on the A9, P17, P19 and W13 will return to normal on Tuesday, September 4. This includes, fares, schedules and routes.

The A9 (South Capitol Street Line) Metrobus route will return to its normal route, schedule and $1.25 daily fare and the P17, P19 (Oxon Hill-Fort Washington Line) and W13 (Bock Road Line) Metrobus routes will return to the normal routes, schedules and $3 express bus fare as well.

During the bridge project, Metro temporarily reduced the bus fare on the A9 route from $1.25 to 75 cents, and the express bus fare on the P17, P19 and W13 routes from $3 to $1.25.

“During the bridge construction project, Metrorail carried almost 2,100 additional riders per day,” said Jim Hughes, Metro’s Director of Operations Support. “Now that the bridge is open, Metrobus routes will return to their normal schedules and fares. For those people who used Metrorail during the construction, we hope they will continue to use our system.”
