New Metro audiocast available online

The newest Metro audiocast, dated August 31, is now available to customers on www.metroopensdoors.com and on iTunes. “On Track” offers listeners a summary of Metro-related news for the week, and provides an overview of how planned maintenance work or major events in the region may impact their weekend travel.

The “On Track” audiocast posted today tells listeners about a major track rehabilitation project on the Orange Line this weekend that includes the closure of the New Carrollton, Landover and Cheverly Metrorail stations. Metro will provide free shuttle bus service between the New Carrollton and Deanwood Metrorail stations throughout the weekend work period. The audiocast also provides a summary of the power problems experienced on Metrorail earlier this week.

In addition, this week’s audiocast includes information about upcoming Washington Nationals baseball games, the National Museum of African Art and the Silver Spring Jazz Festival.

Online users can download the audiocasts from Metro’s Web site and listen on their computers or MP3 devices, such as an iPod or zune. In addition, the Metro audiocast is now available on iTunes. Search the podcast area of the iTune store for “On Track” in the title to find the Metro audiocast. Individuals can also subscribe on iTunes to automatically receive each week’s downloads.
