Friendship Heights Metrobus Terminal Modifications Start Monday

The Friendship Heights Metrobus terminal roof is being modified with work scheduled to begin Monday. The work is expected to last two months.

On Monday, October 1, preparations will begin to take shape as construction work on the ceiling will begin at the Friendship Heights terminal. The work will be done in stages is expected to take about 60 days. The station will remain open during construction, but work areas will be fenced off. Only one bus lane at a time will be closed and Ride On buses will share a lane with Metrobuses.

Metrobus routes 30, 32, 34, 35, 36, E2, E3, E4, E6, L7, L8, N2, N3, N4, N6 and T2 will be affected.

Metro will have officials at Friendship Heights for the first few days to assist customers in catching the right Metrobus. During the construction phase, Metro expects all buses that serve the terminal to operate on their normal schedules.
