Metro Joins Make-A-Wish Foundation to Fulfill a Child's Dream

Metro, along with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, will help Lucas Rodríguez’ dream come true. Lucas, a 17-year-old who loves trains, will come to Metro’s headquarters on Friday, Oct. 26, for a special tour.

Rodríguez will visit the Operations Control Center to see how Metrorail trains are operated. He will also see models of Metro trains and tour the Gallery Place/Chinatown Metrorail station.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. is a non-profit organization that fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Rodríguez is a Make-A-Wish Foundation child who has traveled by train to Washington, DC, from Florida to have his wish fulfilled. His enthusiasm for trains includes surfing the Internet for information about trains and watching movies and television programs about trains.
