Riders' Advisory Council names three new members

Virginians Robin White, Penelope Everline and Jennifer Barozie have joined Metro’s Riders' Advisory Council. They fill vacated seats on the 21-member council.

White, a Fairfax County resident who rides both Metrobus and Metrorail, is expected to serve on the council until end of the year. Everline, of Arlington County, is transit-dependent and uses Metrobus and Metrorail. She works as an advocate for improved transportation for persons with disabilities. Barozie, a resident of the City of Alexandria, also rides both Metrobus and Metrorail. Her term runs through December 2009.

The Riders' Advisory Council includes six individuals from Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, two at-large members and the head of Metro’s Elderly and Disabled Transportation Advisory Committee. Council members serve one-, two- or three-year, unpaid terms. The council advises the Metro’s Board of Directors.
