Metro to Operate Holiday Service on Veterans' Day

Metrorail will operate on a special schedule and Metrobus and MetroAccess will operate on a regular weekday schedule on Veterans’ Day, Monday, November 12. Parking at Metrorail stations will be free on the holiday.

On Monday, November 12, the Metrorail system will operate on a modified Saturday holiday schedule opening at 5 a.m., and closing at midnight. Metrobus and MetroAccess service will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

Last year, Metro’s Board of Directors approved operating regular weekday service on Columbus Day, Veterans’ Day, Martin Luther King Day and President’s Day due to higher than usual ridership on those federal holidays. However, experience during the year did not support operating weekday Metrorail service, due to low ridership, so this year the rail system will operate on a modified Saturday holiday schedule.
