Metro hosts community workshop near Fort Totten Metrorail station

Metro will hold a community workshop on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m. in support of the Fort Totten Metrorail station Area Access and Assessment of Potential Joint Development Plan to gather input into how to create the best type of joint development opportunity to enhance the Metro station area and its surrounding neighbors.

A community walkabout will take place before the workshop from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The walkabout will kick off from the Fort Totten Metrorail station’s Park & Ride lot. The free workshop will follow at Dominion Church, 5335 First Place, NE, Washington, DC.

The plan will be used to help the city, community and Metro determine how to better connect new housing, shopping, employment and services to each other and to the Fort Totten Metrorail station. The goals of this plan include making the Fort Totten station area safer, more vibrant, and easier to get around for pedestrians, cars, buses and bike riders.
