Metrorail Staying Open Until 1 a.m. on Thursday, December 6,To Accommodate Crowds for the Washington Redskins Football Game

The Metrorail system will stay open until 1 a.m. on Friday morning to accommodate the large crowds expected to attend Thursday night’s football game between the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears at FedEx Field.

Metro will have additional personnel at the Morgan Boulevard and Largo Town Center Metrorail stations on the Blue Line and the Landover Metrorail station on the Orange Line and if necessary, will have several additional trains ready to enter service depending on the size of the crowds after the game.

Metro wishes to remind its customers that parking will not be free on Thursday night. Riders parking at any Metro parking facility must have a SmarTrip card to exit. Those without a SmarTrip card can buy one at a Metrorail station for $10. The card itself costs $5 and has a value of $5. The daily parking rate at Landover, Morgan Boulevard and Largo Town Center is $3.50.
